Transformational leader and coach, Ms Hannah Lecha has commended the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development employees for their contribution in the growth of the country’s economy.
Giving a keynote address at the north west and northern awards ceremony at Cresta Maun recently, Ms Lecha said it was imperative to celebrate the achievements of outstanding performers in order to motivate them.
She said this year’s theme: Sustaining an atmosphere of excellence, the key to prosperity, implored the ministry to continue encouraging and cultivating the spirit of excellence in the day to day services of the ministry to achieve positive results.
She also said the theme called for every member of the ministry to make a decision to be the best and deliver for the prosperity of the ministry and the country at large.
Furthermore, she applauded the ministry for cultivating and encouraging excellence and hard work in order to deliver the best that the country had.
She also commended the ministry’s visible footprints in every corner of the country through its treasury offices which were part of the driving force of the country’s economy.
“I am informed that the ministry is opening yet another two treasury offices in Nata and Kang, as an effort to continue bringing services closer to people and improving service delivery,” she said.
Ms Lecha said the dependency of the community on employees’ was a direct call, and challenged employees to better their service delivery since they were responsible for steering the economy.
Ms Lecha praised recipients for their commitment and encouraged them to continue taking their performances to the next level. She noted that the awards came with their challenges as they set a higher expectation for them to work harder.
She encouraged recipients to have the will to help, guide and mentor others so that they could keep on developing themselves and other people in the workplace.
“To those who will not receive any awards, I urge you to go back and evaluate where you lost track and where you need to improve, identify your strength. That way you will intentionally improve your work,” she said.
In his welcoming remarks, Batawana chief representative, Kgosi Bringles Ditlhapo said the awards ceremony was to showcase excellence, commitment and experiences of employees, adding that behind each award there was commitment of each person for a well done job. Ends
