Minister of Transport and Communication says his ministry is vetting invitation to tender for procurement of a consultation to design a single carriageway from Francistown to Nata which will start from Francistown Toyota to Orapa Junction.

Addressing parliament on Monday, Mr Kitso Mokaila said the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development was one responsible for the dual roads from Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital past Marang Hotel through the blocks to the Toyota/Francistown dual carriageway as it was within their jurisdiction.

MP for Francistown East Mr Billy had asked the minister when the City of Francistown Council would dual Francistown Toyota up to the Orapa Junction and from Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital past Marang Hotel.

Still in Parliament, Minister Mokaila said Certificate in Law was the current lowest qualification in the Senior/Strategic Management cadre of his ministry, while Master’s degree was the highest qualification in both middle management and operational cadre.

Furthermore, he said the ministry has a budget amounting to P7.7 million  for up skilling of employees.

The budget for tuition is P1.9 million  while for allowance is P2.8 million, he added.

MP for Ghanzi North, Mr Noah Salakae had asked the minister to state the current lowest qualifications in the senior/strategic management as well as current highest qualifications in the middle and operational management.

He also wanted the minster to state whether his ministry has a budget for up skilling of its employees as well as the cost of the budget. Ends
