Another two Gumare United players who died in a car accident were buried in Gumare on February 8.

This was after five of their deceased team mates who they were both involved in the same car accident were laid to rest last week.

The 14 players were travelling to Sehithwa for constituency tournament, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it veered off the road, rolling several times leaving five passengers dead.

Three were then admitted at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital in the intensive care unit.

However, two of these three eventually succumbed to severe injuries days later, taking the death toll to seven, while the other one is still at the hospital, reportedly in an improving condition as he has been removed from the ICU.

The deceased are Letlhogonolo Maenge (25), Brain Seremile (17), Banewang Joseph (24), Christopher Mojakhwe (25), Gothusamang Motswakhumo (26), Kebamorena Molapisi (17) and Tlotlo Buang (21)

As for other surviving victims, four have been admitted at Mahalapye Primary Hospital for orthopedic attention, while the other two who sustained minor injuries have since been discharged from hospital.

Meanwhile, speaking at the funeral on February 8, Member of Parliament for Ngami, Thato Kwerepe implored the community to pray for those who were still in hospital, noting that prayer was a powerful tool during such difficult times.

Kwerepe however said Gumare United players who died should be celebrated as heroes because they departed while doing what they had passion for. Ends
