Mnangagwa visits Botswana

Zimbabwean president, Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa will undertake a two-day state-visit to Botswana from February 12-13 at the invitation of President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama.
 
A news release from the Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation states that the visit will afford the two leaders an opportunity to deliberate on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual concern.
 
“It will also serve to further strengthen the long stating cordial relations between Botswana and Zimbabwe,” states the release.
 
The release further states that the visit was preceded by the 12th Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation from February 8-11 held in Gaborone, that is co-chaired by Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation, Dr Pelonomi
Venson-Moitoi and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Zimbabwe, Rtd. Lt. General Dr Sibusiso Moyo.
 
It further says that the JPCC will discuss a wide range of issues with a view to broaden and deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade and investment promotion, energy, control of trans-boundary animal diseases, tourism promotion, education, health, shared water courses, transport and cultural cooperation, among others.
 
President Mnangagwa will be accompanied by some ministers, as well as senior government officials and members of the Zimbabwe Business Community.
 
The president and his entourage will return to Zimbabwe on February 13. ENDS
