Minister of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism, Mr Tshekedi Khama says the staff complement for the financial years 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17 were 2 930, 2 855, 2 900, 2 909 and 2 847 respectively.

Mr Khama reported that the wage bill for the year 2012/13 was P170 399 030 while for 2013/14 it stood at P194 456 670.

He further noted that for the 2014/15 financial year, the wage bill was at P229 436 036, P254 458 920 for the year 2015/16 and P267 928 536 for the year 2016/17.

The minister noted that for the same financial years, staff complement for strategic management stood at 22, 21, 21, 25 and 23 respectively while middle management was 271, 293, 386, 231 and 316 for the same years.

Staff complement for operational positions were 2 580, 2 532, 2 569, 2 563 and 2 508 respectively.

Mr Khama further highlighted that the total wage bill in the ministry for the period 2012/13 to 2016/17 was P964 410 019.83.

Member of Parliament for Ghanzi North, Mr Noah Salakae had asked the minister to state the staff complement and wage bill for the financial years 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17.

He also wanted to know the staff complement and wage bills at strategic management, middle management and operational positions for the years. ENDS
