Central Primary School head, Ms Angelinah Ogotsitse says challenges they face as a school will no longer hinder them in their strife for excellence as outlined in their school strategic foundations.
Speaking during the donation of 20 computers, free internet, 10 chairs and tables at the Serowe school on February 6, by Clemtem Electrical and Fibre Network, Ms Ogotsitse said they would utilise the resources to their level best in order to achieve best academic results.
She said Central Primary School was one of the best performing schools in the sub-region and was the best overall school in the whole sub-region for 2017 Primary School Leaving Examinations.
The school head said the generosity gesture would greatly impact on the students and staff by way of improving access to information technology and also enhance their computing skills, as well as understanding and appreciation of role of information and communication technology.
Ms Ogotsitse further said the ICT gadgets would provide new tools that would enable improved teaching and learning of various subjects despite facing daily challenges of acute shortage of classrooms lack of staff room.
The available classrooms are reportedly dilapidated.
The school head also revealed that the school was devoid of a storeroom and a computer laboratory spacious enough to house the ICT equipment.
Furthermore, Ms Ogotsitse said the use of ICT would improve the learning process through provision of more interactive education materials that would increase learners motivation as well as facilitation of easy acquisition of basic skills in various subjects. ENDS
