Minister explains average class size in cities

The average class size for core subjects in the junior secondary schools in Gaborone is 46 students per class, says Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Patrick Masimolole.
Responding to a question from MP for Gaborone Central, Mr Dumelang Saleshando in Parliament on July 11, Mr Masimolole said this was because enrolments in the 14 junior secondary schools in the region ranged from 42 to 48 students per class.
He said the average class size in junior secondary schools in Francistown was 45 students per class.
He added that the average class size in the seven junior secondary schools in the region ranged from 40 in Mmei to 50 in Selepa. MP Saleshando had asked the minister to state the average class size for junior secondary schools in Gaborone and Francistown. ENDS
