30 Jan 2018

Senior teacher mathematics and science at Mabudzane Primary School, Ms Oaitse Caiphus is said to be an exemplary teacher who goes the extra mile for her pupils, and to keep the school’s 100 per cent pass rate streak since 2011.

Ms Caiphus taught the Standard Seven class in 2013 for the first time where she was able to attain the 100 per cent pass rate.

She has also been awarded four awards for being the best teacher in the region.

Speaking during the school’s pre-victoryy celebrations on Saturday in Francistown, Ms Caiphus attributed the schools good performance to teamwork, dedication and commitment by all the teachers, adding that they also offered free tutorials for struggling pupils.

She further noted that the school’s head was hands on and active to the extent of attending classes.

Ms Caiphus further added that teachers at the school dug deep into their pockets to buy needy pupils school uniform and clothes.

For her part, the head of learning difficulties at the school, Ms Patricia William emphasised that team work was vital in the school’s success, adding that the school’s impressive results were the kind of results all schools across the country should aim for.

Ms William further noted that they found it necessary to contribute money and raise funds through different activities to sponsor the school’s teacher’s victory dinner celebrations to keep them motivated to work hard year after year in order to maintain their 100 per cent pass rate.

Earlier on, Ms Caiphus noted that they were faced with challenges of payment of overtime by the employer, but explained that at Mabudzane Primary School they do not allow that to affect their commitment to pupils. Ends
