All or nothing for Galaxy

29 Jan 2018

Mascom Top 8 defending champions, Jwaneng Galaxy coach Matshidiso Moseki says he will approach the second leg of the cup semifinals to be played this week with an all or nothing mindset.
Moseki told BOPA in an interview after his boys were held to a two all draw by first time Mascom Top 8, Township Rollers at Lobatse Sports Complex yesterday during a match that started like a house on fire, but did not quite live up to the expectation of ‘a final before the final status’.

Galaxy were the first to open the score charts through Gilbert Baruti, but Rollers came from behind to equalise within a split seconds through Motsholetsi Sikele. Rollers had deliberately made it snappy to catch Galaxy, who were still celebrating the goal, on a weak moment. Galaxy later chased the game into the second half after Mosha Gaolaolwe put Rollers on the lead through a header to end the first half on a high. Patrick Kaunda equalised for Galaxy in the anxious minutes of the second half to give his team hope to see a better day.

Moseki said his boys could have done better not to concede the two easy goals, but stressed that the draw created them a situation where they have to go all out to win to advance to the next stage of the competition. He said as usual, they had expected an uphill climb from Rollers who were arguably not quite playing to their full strength in the absence of strikers Joel Mogorosi and Mthokozisi Msoni who are serving suspensions pending a disciplinary hearing to be instituted by the Botswana Premier League.

Nicola Kavazovic on the other hand said he was satisfied with the result, adding they came with the aim to score and maintain an unbeaten record which they did. He said his boys dominated the match in the first 15th minute, but were unlucky to concede a goal as a result of miscommunication between defence and midfield.

He said he approached the second half with a view to stop the opponents who were visibly looking to snatch a match winner from creating chances which he said paid off. Meanwhile, in another match, Orapa United beat Gaborone United by 1-0 at Itekeng Stadium. Whoever wins between the two will be placed on a collision course between the winner between Rollers and Galaxy.
