 The annual Dinokeng Youth Business Expo has rebranded to Dinokeng Business Expo to be inclusive of all businesses in the area and the country at large.

Speaking in an interview, the chairperson of Dinokeng Business Expo, Mr Anthony Rasetshwane together with the coordinator of the expo, Mr Karabo Sename said rebranding was necessitated by the popular demand of the expo to include big businesses rather than focusing on youth-owned businesses only.

Mr Sename said even though the business expo had grown over the past three years since inception there was need to allow it to grow further by partnering with established businesses to provide a platform where the youth could learn from.

“Initially when we started, we were called Baitshoki Youth Group with the aim to influence and motivate youths along the river villages in the Mochudi East constituency through motivational talks,” he said.As part of its growth, Mr Sename said they had now registered a new name group called Dinokeng Business Foundation Trust to give more meaning to what they want to achieve, adding that the trust would now host the event as part of their objectives of bringing businesses together for benchmarking purposes.

“The idea is to also instill entrepreneurship skills and give a platform in a more relaxed atmosphere, where they learn new techniques and trends in business,” he said.

Reflecting on the growth of the expo, he said the first one attracted about 50 guests and 10 exhibitors while the second had 300 guests and over 30 exhibitors and the third saw over 1 000 guests with close to 50 exhibitors.

“This shows you that we have grown since we started and signs still show that more growth is expected over the coming years.’

The coordinator further said they had secured some sponsors for the event with the main sponsor being Bobcity Catering and Hiring Services, venue at Cosmos ground secured together with the sound system.

This time around the business expo will run for two days starting from June 29 to 30.  Ends
