Masisi commends Ralekgetho residents

Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi has commended residents of Ralekgetho for reviving the spirit of unity amongst themselves and public officers.
Mr Masisi, who is also Member of Parliament (MP) for Moshupa/Manyana was addressing kgotla meeting in Ralekgetho on January 19.
He also praised public officers for the good service delivery in Ralekgetho and urged them to keep the spirit.
Mr Masisi briefed residents about Matimela Act and Consumer and Competition Act which were passed in the last Parliament session.
He appealed to residents of the village to preserve rain water to arrest the water shortage situation.
Vice President Masisi has also thanked all those who voted him in the last general elections, and appealed to them to vote for an active and visionary MP and a councillor when he leaves his parliamentary seat on March 31 this year.
For their part, residents lauded the Vice President Mr Masisi and his government for the poverty eradication initiatives .
The residents said poverty eradication programmes had had ‘profound effect’ on their lives and thanked government for uplifting lives through such initiatives.
Village Development Committee (VDC) chairperson Mr Motlhatlosi Ntesetsang said programmes such as ISPAAD, Poverty eradication, Ipelegeng and others had borne fruit in Ralekgetho.
Mr Ntesetsang commended Moshupa/Manyana constituents for electing a visionary leader who is passionate about developing their area.
He said Ralekgetho had transformed rapidly, saying most residents could put food on the table because of programmes spearheaded by the Vice President.
Mr Ntesetsang indicated that small stock like goats were doing well and some beneficiaries had already sold their small stock to government and individuals.
He said Ralekgetho had been electrified and solar power street lights were in place. In addition, Mr Ntesetsang said there was an expansion of school classrooms as well as allocation of residential plots.
The residents were however, concerned about shortage of water which they said delayed some of development projects.
Giving vote of thanks, Southern District council chairperson Mr Alec Seametso said there were few issues in Ralekgetho except for water shortage which he said was national crisis. ENDS
