Ftown council to lease open spaces
14 Dec 2017
Francistown City Council (FCC) has 257 open spaces, 49 of which are in Francistown East constituency, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso has said.
Responding to a question from Francistown East MP, Mr Buti Billy, Ms Tshireletso said the council had identified open spaces for use by youth within the built up area of the city.
She said eight such spaces were within the Francistown East constituency.
The invitation to tender for the eight open spaces, she said, was currently floating and closing on December 15, 2017.
“These open spaces are to be leased to best evaluated Francistown youth for a period of five years at no costs,” she said.
Mr Billy had asked the minister to state the number of open spaces in the Francistown East constituency that belonged to FCC which had been allocated to youth to utilise as temporary stalls for selling their products free of charge. ENDS
