The Ministry of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs' current lowest qualification in the senior/strategic management cadre is a first degree.

That was said by Minister Edwin Batshu in Parliament in response to Member of Parliament for Ghanzi North, Mr Noah Salakae who had wanted to know the current lowest qualification in the senior/strategic management cadre in the ministry

Mr Batshu said out of 13 officers in the senior/strategic management cadre in his ministry, nine had master’s degree while four had first degrees.

He further said the current highest qualification in middle management and operational cadres was masters degree, and that the lowest qualification was junior certificate.

The minister noted that the Ministry of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs came into effect on October 1, 2016, and that its first budget was in the 2017/2018 financial year of which P832 123 00 was for up-skilling employees.

The MP had also wanted to know whether the ministry had a budget for up-skilling employees, and if so, what was the budget for the past five financial years. ENDS
