Specially Elected Member of Parliament, Ms Bogolo Kwenewendo is in Buenos Aires, Argentina attending the Buenos Session of Parliamentary Conference on the World Trade Organisation (WTO) scheduled for December 9-13.

A press release from the National Assembly states that Ms Kwenewendo represents the Parliament of Botswana’s Steering Committee of the Parliamentary Conference on the WTO.

The release states that the steering committee is a permanent mechanism of parliamentary oversight of the WTO and its facto parliamentary dimension that considers issues of trade and trade negotiations.

The release further says the conference is expected to discuss e-commerce and the internationalisation of small-to-medium enterprise (SME’s).

“The conference will discuss the role of multi-literalism in times of rising protectionism and what the Parliamentary Conference on the WTO can expect from the 11th WTO Ministerial Conference.” Ms Kenewendo is expected back home on December 17. ENDS
