The Minister of Lands and Housing, Mr Lebonaamang Mokalake has said Ngwato Land Board is investigating issues of land mismanagement by Mahalapye Sub Land Board in Bonwapitse and surrounding areas.

Responding to a question in Parliament, Mr Mokalake said the report was expected at the end of this month. He said his ministry intends to prepare a zoning plan in Bonwapitse with a view to identify and protect potential land that would be of benefit to Bonwapitse community. 

Minister Mokalake was responding to a question from Shoshong MP, Mr Phillip Makgalemele, who had asked the minister if he was aware of complaints raised by residents of Bonwapitse on alleged mismanagement of land by the Mahalapye Sub Land Board in their village and surrounding areas. 

He also wanted the minister to state steps taken to address these concerns if he was aware of them and steps he will take to empower people of Bonwapitse given that their land has huge potential attributed to its proximity to Mahalapye. Ends
