Assistamt Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology, Mr Fidelis Molao says the ministry’s wage bill for the 2017/18 financial year is P306 333 916.

Mr Molao said the ministry started operating from October 1, 2016 as a result the only staff complement and related wage bill to be reported on was for the year 2017/18 and the staff complement was 2 182.

The assistant minister  noted that the current staff complement for strategic management stood at 27 while middle management and operational positions were 767 and 1 388 respectively.

He further said that the strategic management current wage bill was P10.5 million  middle management being P178 million  and operational positions stood at P117 million.

Mr Molao was reponding to a question in Parliament on Wednesday from Ghanzi North MP, Mr Noah Salakae who wanted the minister to state the staff complement and wage bill for the financial years 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17.

Mr Salakae also wanted to know staff complement and wage bills at strategic management, middle management and operational positions for these years. ENDS
