Chief executive of Botswana Football Association, Mfolo Mfolo has advised coaches to avoid mixing football and politics.
Speaking at the official opening of the coaches’ basic course, Mfolo urged the participants of the course to focus on their club mandates and their roles as team coaches.
He applauded the Francistown Region Football Association (FRAFA) for hosting such a course for its regional clubs despite the challenges of lack funds.
He further applauded the participants for taking part in the course, noting that football was dynamic.
He encouraged them to equip themselves with knowledge on football at all times.
For his part, FRAFA chairperson, Maokaneng Bontshetse noted that it was important to equip coaches so they could understand and play their role well in their clubs.
Back in the days, he said teachers were the only ones, who took the courses.
Today, he said it was crucial for football clubs administration to participate in such courses.
Earlier, First Division chairperson, noted that it was imperative to equip everyone in football because they do not want leaders in the office who know nothing about football. Ends
