Parliament has been told that the lowest qualifications in the senior/strategic management cadre of the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Culture Development is a first degree.

The Member of Parliament for Ghanzi North, Mr Noah Salakae had asked the assistant minister in the ministry, Mr Kefentse Mzwinila what the current highest qualification in the middle management and operational cadres was.

He further explained that the ministry has a budget for upskilling of employees, and that the cost of the budget for the five financial years was over P2 million for 2012/2013, over P3 million for the year 2013/2014, over P3 million again for the financial year 2014/2015.

He said the budget for the last financial years 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 were over P1 million each respectively. MP Salakae had asked the minister to explain the current lowest qualification in the senior/strategic management cadre in the ministry and the current highest qualification in the middle management operational cadres.

He also wanted the minister to state if the ministry had a budget for upskilling of employees; and if so, to state the cost of the budget for the past five financial years.  ENDS
