“This is the journey that demonstrates appreciation, it is a journey and a day we remember and bring joy.

We appreciate the work done by members of the Botswana Defence Force and members of the Botswana Police Service during the festive season.

It is a day where we remember those who will not be with their families because they will be in hospitals,” he said.

He said the donation of food hampers to soldiers and police officers demonstrated the importance President Khama attached to the welfare of the people.

“As beneficiary organisations we can attest to the happiness that these hampers bring.

It really takes a lot of sacrifice for one to commit to the provision of safety and security during the festive season.

The annual hampers therefore come at an opportune time and they continue to inspire our operatives as our services are most needed during this busy period,” Mr Makgophe said. BOPA
