No plans for school in Suping

03 Dec 2017

Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Frans Van Der Westhuisen said his ministry does not have plans to build a primary school in Suping Ward in Molepolole North constituency due to budgetary constraints.

Responding to a question in Parliament, the assistant minister said students in the ward attended school at Phuthadikobo Primary School which is 6km from the Suping ward and therefore there were no plans to provide them with transportation.

Gaborone North MP Haskins Nkaigwa had asked the minister if there were any plans to build a primary school in Suping in the Molepolole North Constituency.

He further asked if the minister was aware that young pupils had to walk over 20 kilometres daily to Molepolole to attend schools and asked if there were any plans to provide such students with transportation. ENDS
