29 Nov 2017
Air Botswana has successfully completed the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) conducted in August.
A press release from Air Botswana says as at November, the national airline was a member in good standing of the IATA.
This is a biennial audit for all IATA member airlines.
Acting General Manager of Air Botswana, Ms Agnes Khunwana said this was a remarkable achievement for Air Botswana, which reassures the flying public and other stakeholders that Air Botswana puts safety of its customers first.
“I am very proud of the Air Botswana team, who worked tirelessly for this to be realised.
Indeed determination always yields success,” she said.
She further said the IOSA audit was a global benchmark and allowed Air Botswana’s safety standards to be compared with those of other airlines around the globe, as they all have to adhere to processes as laid out by IATA.
She highlighted that the achievement was a testament to Air Botswana’s unwavering commitment to upholding the highest operational and safety standards.
Air Botswana joins 424 other international airlines on the IOSA registry. All IATA members are required to be IOSA registered and must remain registered to maintain membership.
The IOSA is an internationally recognised and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management systems of an airline including, Corporate Organisation and Management System, Flight
Operations, Operational Control and Flight Dispatch, Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance, Cabin Operations, Ground Handling, Cargo Operations and Operational Security, the release says. BOPA
