Contractor delays project

Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Kitso Mokaila says his ministry has in December 19 2016 terminated contract awarded to BOWMAG construction for the construction of the Francistown-Matsiloje road.
Answering a question in Parliament, Mr Mokaila said there had been delay in appointing another contractor to complete the works because certain issues with the first contractor remained unresolved.
He said the ministry was working round the clock to resolve the issues before December 31, 2017.
MP for Francistown East Mr Buti Billy had asked the minister to update Parliament on the progress made in the construction of the dilapidated portion of the Francistown-Matsiloje road particularly near the entrance of the Donga Botswana Defence Force camp. BOPA
