Fighters beat Rangers 2-0
27 Nov 2017
Mogoditshane Fighters showed their experience and class over the weekend when they walloped Tsabong-based Black Rangers by two goals to nil.
The two teams clashed under a simmering heat with temperatures clocking as high as 34 degrees but they seemed poised for a draw as they finished the first part of the game with a goalless draw and few attempts at goal which were also far apart.
After recess, Fighters players came back a better lot as they combined well going forward and in the 61st minute forced a free kick just outside the box of their opponents.
Kabo Ngongorego rose to the occasion and curled in the ball to beat the Rangers goal minder Moabi Gabankalafe who could not match the well taken free kick.
The development saw the newly appointed coach of Black Rangers making two quick changes in succession as he was trying to crawl back into the game when he substituted Phemelo Mosukwane for Tebogo Thumpe and Gaonyatswe Ramokate for Morebodi Haenanyane.
However the changes did not bring the desired results as the opponents continued with their onslaught forcing some silly errors on the defense of rangers.
The goalkeeper gifted the visitors with another goal when he played a short ball with one of his defenders and it was intercepted by Bernard Kebotseng who just tapped the ball into the net to make it two in favour of Mogoditshane.
After the game Duncan Tshegofatso of Black Rangers blamed what he called poor refereeing for the first goal, arguing that the ball should have been a throw in instead of a free kick.
He lamented that the goal was a turning point for the game as his boys lost morale after the goal which he described as dubious.
He however was adamant that his boys will bounce back to collect maximum points as he just recently joined them.
Mogoditshane Fighters assistant coach Kelebogile Kgannyeng pointed that they got the most valuable points in their away fixture.
Kgannyeng revealed that the boys played according to plan and that they will be working hard so that they get automatic promotion come end of the season. ENDS
