No maternity clinic for Mosetse

19 Nov 2017

Minister of Health and Wellness Ms Dorcas Makgato says that her ministry does not have plans to construct a clinic with maternity wing at Mosetse during the current national development plan.

She however said that there were plans to upgrade the current health post to a clinic without maternity during NDP 11 and that the project is at advanced design stage, adding that the design and tender documentation was expected to be completed by end of January 2018 followed by construction during first quarter of 2018/19.

Ms Makgato said construction of Nata Primary Hospital Level 1  was planned to start during 2017/18 financial year, but the project was delayed and was at tendering stages for consultancy services.

On the other hand, she said that Mosetse and Nata projects were delayed due to capacity constraints which has been addressed by the establishment of additional project teams both at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing Development and Health and Wellness.

MP for Nata-Gweta Mr Polson Majaga had asked the minister to state when the construction of Mosetse Clinic with maternity wing and Nata hospital will start as promised to the Nata-Gweta constituents and what has caused the delay in these projects. BOPA
