Stanbic Bank opens two branches

Stanbic Bank Botswana is back at blowing minds again with other concept of new special features that meet the customer needs.

These specialised features were announced when the bank opened two new branches in the northern area of Gaborone that will operate on extended hours during weekdays and weekends.

The new branches, situated at Airport Junction Mall and Acacia Mall in Phakalane, opened their doors to the public this week, with one concept of a universal bank that caters for every customer, whether corporate or individual.

Designed with the customer mind in place and from a characteristically bright and spacious interiors to a host of thoughtful customer friendly touches, everything in the two branches signifies light and speed customer service.

The two new branches are significantly different from other branches and are the first of its kind in Botswana with totally new special features.

With the new extended banking operations hours, Airport junction Branch opens at 8:30am to 6:30pm on weekdays, and 9am to 4:30pm and 9am to 12:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays respectively.

Acacia branch in Phakalane opens from 8:30am to 4:30pm on weekdays and Saturday from 9am to 1:30pm.

At Airport Junction branch, customers can do large denominations without having to go into the banking hall.

There is also an enclosed bulk teller machine, where customers can deposit large sums of monies of up to more than P15 000 without getting assistance in the banking hall tellers.

The two branches also have welcome desks, which are marred by pleasant front desk representative who are the ‘face’ of the bank for all visitors and they are responsible for the first impression of the company.

Employees have a friendly and easy going personality, while also being receptive and disciplined.

They give accurate information about the bank operations and their goal is to make guests and visitors feel comfortable and valued while on the premises.

There is also free Wi-Fi and a self-service desk by customer.

Self-service desks are fitted with tablets for customers to use in their transactions whilst awaiting a bank consultant for further consultation on their personal requirements such as private banking in any of the ports.

Stanbic Bank head of customer channels, Mr Chiko Manokore told journalists that the new features afford the bank the opportunity to enhance its digital capabilities in the new branches, in line with its drive to be not only a more universal bank, but a more digital centred institution, catering for its wants and needs to its clients.

However, he said customers can continue to use all other Stanbic Bank Botswana branches nationwide, and make the bank’s digital solutions such as Stanbic Bank Apps, cellphone and Internet banking and increased ATM footprint, amongst others.

“As these exciting developments unfold, we will continue to keep our valued stakeholders informed. What our focus is on now is ensuring that, as always, our efforts towards building what we call ‘scale’ never compromise our passion and dedication towards ensuring the best possible customer experience and making customers' lives easier and more convenient. Indeed, this is something we hold dear in all our banking halls, as well as our mobile and digital banking platforms,” said Mr Manokore.

Meanwhile, Stanbic Bank Botswana, born 155 years ago, is a member of the Standard Bank Group, the largest bank in Africa by assets.
