Assistant Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse has said the ministry’s staff complement stood at 8 268, 8 345, 7 313, 6 995 and 6 851 for each of the financial years from 2012/13 to 2016/17.

He said the wage bills for the same years were P520m, P524.8m, P547m, P576m and P640m.

He also said staff complement for the 2012/13 financial year at strategic, middle and operational levels were 51 641 and 7 576; while for 2013/14 it was 52 662, and 7 631.

Mr Autlwetse said for 2014/15 it stood at 39 564 and 6 710, whereas for 2015/16 it was 37 584 and 6 375, and 39 600 and 6 212 for the 2016/17 financial year.

He said in 2012/13, the wage bill for strategic management was P13.1 million, in 2013/14 P17.9m, in 2014/15 P18.5m, in 2015/16 P20.7m and in 2016/17 P17.4m.

He said in 2012/13 the wage bill for middle management was P139m, in 2013/14 P147m, in 2014/15 P156m, in 2015/16 P169m and in 2016/17 P183m.

He said in 2012/13 the wage bill for operational management was P632m, in 2013/14 P521m, in 2014/15 P513m, in 2015/16 P540m and in 2016/17 P536m.

Ghanzi North MP, Mr Noah Salakae had asked the minister to state the ministry’s staff complement for the financial years in question, and the associated wage bills, as well as the staff complement for strategic, middle and operational management for the same financial years, and the associated wage bills.
