Abide by ministry mandate

Tati Land Board secretary, Mr Fawcus Mmolawa has urged Land Tribunal staff to be mindful of their core ministry values and to serve Batswana with humility and pride.
Speaking at an orientation seminar for new Land Tribunal officers recently, Mr Mmolawa explained that the purpose of the orientation was to assimilate new officers into the work environment as part of their ongoing process of development.
He explained that the orientation session would assist new staff members to understand the processes and expectations of the organisation.
Mr Mmolawa said information exchange during the orientation process would prepare new members to perform their day-to-day business.
He also noted that the main challenge of the tribunal were delays in the adjudication of appeals, adding that it had been a challenge to the tribunal since it started operations in 1997.
Mr Mmolawa advised staff members to improve their services to customers, saying cases ought to be completed timeously as justice delayed was justice denied.
He encouraged them to serve with Botho and to maintain the integrity required for an adjudicating body.
Furthermore, he advised staff members to work as a team and to be innovative and use available technology. He added that they were the key elements that could help them to perform their work.
“Your decisions must facilitate the socio-economic development of Batswana, and I chose to emphasise our strategic foundations in this address because they are an embodiment of who we are,” he said.
He said they must thrive to deliver to the expectation of customers because they expected determination of their matters sooner rather than later. ENDS
