Sasha Kebapetse, a young lady aged 24, who prides herself in elegance, creativity and excellence, officially launched her business, SKEA (Sasha K Ear Accessories).

The line, which focuses on handmade accessories for women, was launched on October 23 on social media.

In an interview with BOPA, Ms Kebapetse stated that at the age of seven she was enrolled into arts and craft class and fell in love with craft ever since.

She added that she would draw designs and had a dream of owning a clothing line for young girls and even had a dream of making dolls in her own image.

“Fast forward to about 15 years later I became a lady who just loves DIY (Do It Yourself) and my passion for making accessories began with accessories for the male sector where I made and still make bow ties, lapel pins, pocket squares and other accessories,” she said.

Ms Kebapetse said she later decided that she needed to get into something for the beautiful ladies too, which then gave birth to Sasha K Ear Accessories, which she currently operates from her home and is reachable on her Facebook and Instagram profiles, Kitso Sasha Ms Kebapetse Hlabatia.

She mentioned that unlike many, SKEA is not a usual business, saying it is an uncommon and extraordinary enterprise that aims to inspire, incubate and train young girls to be able to do handicrafts and be empowered to take up entrepreneurship and become pioneers in the craft business.

More than just her creativity, she said this line was inspired by her mentor, Ms Kgalalelo Ramogapi and mother, Ms Onkemetse Kebapetse, who pride themselves in finding little unique classy pieces that transform the whole outfit and add an extra touch of elegance and class.

Ms Kebapetse stated that SKEA sells custom-made earrings to their clientele at affordable prices.

“With my designers we sit down with our clients, discuss and agree on the piece then we design according to their specifications,” she said.

She said they pride themselves with ear accessories, Sunshine Collection, which is a nine piece collection of some of the classiest designs that she sat and picked with her designers.

Ms Kebapetse said the sunshine collection costs P90 to P120.

Her future plans, which she said have already commenced, includes her engaging younger lady jewellers and designers and having a collection of solely 100 per cent handmade locally produced accessories.

She said her dream was to grow and produce her products on a larger scal. ENDS
