Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) has donated 15 pro-line tablets amounting to P45 000 to 15 teachers at Linchwe Junior Secondary to motivate them to do more.
Speaking at the awards ceremony in Mochudi recently, BOCRA head of public relations Mr Aaron Nyelesi said the awards were meant to motivate teachers so they contributed much in producing the best graduates and also in helping the country achieve its mandate of producing an educated and globally competitive Batswana.
Mr Nyelesi expressed hope that the gadgets would not divide teachers but rather be a motivation to those who did not get them to work extra hard and team up with those who won to gain much on improving their side.
Kgatleng regional education office, performance improvement coordinator, Mr Molefe Mongale commended the teachers for the good work they displayed in the past years and urged them to continue in that spirit.
He said customer focus was part of their mandate hence customer satisfaction in all areas not only academically but also in other objectives like providing all the necessary attention to special unit department.
Mr Mongale asked teachers to be concerned about students’ welfare rather than being worried about it because concern brought solution to the problem while worry brought fear and panic.
He encouraged the school to share with other schools in the region and also other regions so that the nation at large could produce the best quality products ready to take on the industry both nationally and internationally.
School representative, Ms Maureen Tladi said motivating a teacher was investing in a student indirectly because when one was rewarded for their good work they were inspired to even do much better next time.
She said this was their sixth year as top achievers in Kgatleng and promised to maintain that position even in the next coming year with the set target of 100 per cent by the school.
Ms Tladi congratulated the awardees for the job well done and urged them to continue doing their best to produce quality products and also to work hard for the national record.
She urged BOCRA to continue supporting the school not only academically but in every way they could so they were able to deliver the education mandate and also to work in conducive environment for good results.
Moshawana ward Councillor, Mr Joseph Setoutwe appreciated the work undertaken by the teachers in shaping the lives of students and encouraged them to continue the good work.
He thanked BOCRA for the incentives and urged the school to continue in their form more so that the gadgets would accord them an opportunity to carry out research and get information which would be beneficial for the students.
He encouraged the teachers to continue striving for excellence in the next coming JCE and to put more effort in their students so they do better. ENDS
