Open day benefits customers

30 Oct 2017

As a way of bridging the gap between rural and urban villages the office of the District Commissioner held an open day at Oliphant’s Drift on October 27 by bringing services to the people.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy District Commissioner, Ms Lydia Keatlholetswe said they saw the need to bring the services to Oliphant’s Drift residents because of the village’s proximity away from services.

Mrs Keatlholetswe said the open day gave residents an opportunity to learn about services provided by different government departments and parastatals.

She applauded entities that were part of the event for bringing their services to the people as this does not happen often.

Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) representative, Mr James Mooketsi said they saw the need to bring their services to residents as his organisation has observed that Batswana lacked knowledge on issues of communications.

Mr Mooketsi said they used the open day as an opportunity to educate residents and allowed them to inquire more about their services and know about the communication act.

Mr Mooketsi further said the open day facilitated interaction between them as an organization and their clients, enabling clients to express their complaints as well as providing a platform of question and answer session. ENDS
