Ramsden urges women to focus re-evaluate

Former Yarona FM radio personality, Ms Tumi Ramsden has encouraged women to be focused and have faith in building businesses they desire.
Speaking at a Women in Business meet and greet session organised by Serowe Women in Business Network, the now chief executive officer of Venus Media implored attendants never to tire in business.
“Business can go through a phase where things are not going well therefore at that stage, you will need to re-evaluate than tire,” she said.
Ms Ramsden advised the women to always have a vision and a clear plan of the direction they want to propel their businesses.
“Anything can be a business as long as you want it to be. Do as much as you can so that you create your own vision and work towards it,” she said.
She said it was critical that they showed their passion because through that, they could realise their purpose.
“It is important to understand yourself. Once you have a purpose you can reach higher heights,” she said.
Ms Ramsden implored women to challenge themselves to find out if what they did in their businesses was proper, adding that it was important that they up-skilled themselves and improved what they did in their businesses.
“Re-evaluate, re-think, re-focus and start something else that you love if your current business is not working,” she said.
Ms Ramsden gave a testimony of her previous work engagements which she said did not work for her, adding that it was only through lessons from the past mistakes that one could succeed.
“Make your move to the greatness that you want, turn your vision into reality,” she said. She implored women to assist and network, stick together and support each other.
She added that for them to succeed, they should be able to make others successful.
“In life we must deposit favours into the favour bank because you will never know when you may need the withdrawal. We must network.
The more people we know, the more worth for the business, so cast the net wide,” she said.
Local Enterprise Authority representative, Ms Tsholofelo Arone said major challenges affecting most businesses included insufficient market, poor record keeping and budgetary constraints.
She said a market was crucial for businesses to succeed, adding that most entrepreneurs operated their businesses without having established the market first.
“You need to identify your consumers, the needs in the market, what consumers are interested in in order to attract consumers and this in one of the services we offer at LEA,” she said.
She said since LEA did not provide funding, they were working closely with the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency which was responsible for funding.
Held under the theme: 'She Revolution,' the event was aimed at unleashing the purpose of women in business, bringing them together to share ideas of growing their businesses and motivating each other. ENDS
