24 Oct 2017

Despite challenges including shortage of resources such as books and computers, Mmualefhe Primary School in Serowe has managed to do well in Primary School Leaving Examination from 2012 to 2016.

Speaking at a handover ceremony of a computer lab donated by Murray & Roberts recently, the school head, Ms Kefilwe Kebaetse said the school had been experiencing a gradual upward improvement of PSLE results however dropping by a percentage in 2016 to achieve 84.5 from 85.7 per cent obtained in 2015.

Ms Kebaetse said the school’s ambition was to reach the 90 per cent target set by the region and even exceed it.

The school’s 2015 Student Representative Council president, Lone Otimile urged pupils to be determined and disciplined.

Education he said should be their religion and appealed to them to cooperate with teachers in order to excel in their studies.

Murray & Roberts human resource business partner, Ms Antoinette Nainar said education was the best legacy and it took commitment and hard working for that to be realised.

Ms Nainar said parents were important partners in the education of their children and encouraged them to play their part.

She encouraged students to use the computers to unleash their potential and urged teachers to take care of them so that they benefit the next generation.

Private secretary to Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr Thato Chabaesele expressed gratitude to the private sector for heeding the President’s plea to assist government.

The donation comprised 16 computers, one projector and chairs. ENDS
