Sefalana opens another store in Mogoditshane

Sefalana has opened another retail store in Mogoditshane. Sefalana Shopper Mogoditshane is the third retail store in the village among the many stores owned by giant chain stores bringing the number of stores under their banner to 23 in Botswana.
Speaking at the launch, Sefalana board chairperson and former vice president, Dr Ponatshego Kedikilwe said with the expansion of Sefalana locally and regionally, it has created opportunities for Batswana and he encouraged them to take advantage of the opportunities by supplying the retail giant or buying Sefalana shares.
Although everyone was encouraged to make use of opportunities presented by Sefalana, Dr Kedikilwe specifically urged youth groups and community income generating schemes such as metshelo to utilise opportunities that arised from the expansion of Sefalana.
He stressed that there was no time for complacency and despondency, adding that “this is the time to advance and take this country forward.”
The Sefalana board chairperson, said in spite of the tough times, the company has managed to issue a divident of 25 thebe per share to its shareholders to show commitment to their share holders. “This is so despite the tough economic situation the company and the business environment find themselves in,” he said.
Dr Kedikilwe further noted that during Sefalana’s early days in 1974, they had 233 employees, and that in 2016 the company had multiplied that number to 2 500 employees and still counting.
For his part, Kgosi Alfred Dihutso commended the company for bringing developments as well as employment opportunities in their village. Ends
