Speaking during a press conference earlier, Yarona FM station manager, Kelly Ramputswa said the radio station was embarking on the challenge in order to promote health and fitness among Batswana.

B4H BW Cycling Academy representative, David Lebalelo said their duty as a cycling academy was to help Yarona FM in making sure the race was done well.

He said they had decided to take cycling to the people by making the new route pass through the city.

“This time around the route was different as it passed through the middle of the city.

We did not close the roads, but rather we shared them with other users,” he said.

He said they had roped in 150 marshals in order to ensure the safety of cyclists and other road users and that everything went accordingly.

The race started from the Fairgrounds Mall and headed towards Block 9 cycle before going north towards Sebele and onwards to Malotwane.

From Malotwane the cyclists turned left at the Airport junction traffic lights and went towards Gaborone Private Hospital and the UB road back to Fairgrounds Mall. Ends
