Assistant minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Mr Biggie Butale has gone to attend the informal World Trade Organization (WTO)  mini-ministerial gathering in Marrakech, Morocco. The meeting started yesterday and ends today.

A press release from the ministry states that the meeting was preceded by an African Ministers of Trade preparatory meeting on Sunday.

The meetings will offer an opportunity for the ministers to provide political impetus to the negotiations and guidance on possible outcomes at the Ministerial Conference (MC-11) scheduled for December 10 to 13, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The release further states that the meetings also comes at an opportune time given the persistent statement in the WTO negotiations with no apparent deliverables in the lead up to MC-11.

The assistant minister left on Saturday and is expected back home tomorrow. BOPA
