Gunners GU meet in Lobatse 120 match
06 Oct 2017
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for Lobatse 120 years celebrations will stage a football fun day tomorrow at Lobatse Sports Complex.
The main attraction will be an encounter between the town’s most famed football club Extension Gunners, and one of historically most successful clubs in the country Gaborone United, which will commence at 4pm.
The town’s lower division sides, Maletamotse and Lobatse Stars will lock horns at 12pm before that gigantic encounter.
The publicity chairperson for Lobatse 120 years celebrations committee Segametsi Kebonang said on Thursday that the football fun day was part of build-up for the big celebrations.
“This is a build-up and a fund-raising activity for the big celebration which will be held on 4 November 2017 at Lobatse Sports Complex. I encourage people to come in big numbers,” Kebonang said.
Kebonang said her committee has organized the match with Extension Gunners. She said gates at the stadium would open at 10am and admission was P25. “Tickets are sold at All Kasi shops, Gunners office, Gaborone United office and Lobatse Town Council public relations office,” she added.
The match will also give Gunners coach Itumeleng Duiker an opportunity to sharpen his strikers, who were guilty of missing golden opportunities in the opening two league matches. Gunners newly registered Ugandan player Francis Olaki was expected to feature during the match. Ends
