Beneficiaries of poverty eradication in Tonata Sub-district have been urged to come up with creative ways that will help them stay afloat in the business industry.

Speaking at their graduation, the chief of social and community development (S&CD) from the Central District Council, Mr Lerothodi Baruti noted that they were 376 poverty eradication beneficiary businesses in Totona Sub-district, but that only 54 were successful.

He encouraged beneficiaries not to be one of the failed businesses, but to use the skills they acquired in training for their businesses to bloom.

Mr Baruti also encouraged beneficiaries to work together with their office and to be open to criticism in order for them to know their weaknesses and how to address them.

He further advised them that they should be aware of competition in the business industry, and to create unique products that could penetrate the market.

He also encouraged beneficiaries to have patience and commitment as it took time for businesses to prosper.

He also advised them to benchmark from each other and to network with people who would help them grow in their business.

The deputy district commissioner of Tonota, Ms Boitumelo Mokwena encouraged beneficiaries to always use and take advantage of the market day in their communities to connect and network with potential customers.

She advised beneficiaries to keep records of their businesses to track progress.

She encouraged them to produce quality products as it lead to satisfaction and trust from customers.

Earlier in her welcome remarks, the poverty eradication coordinator, Ms Barulaganye Mosetlha encouraged beneficiaries to use the skills they had acquired at training to make a living.

She said with the skills and knowledge acquired, they could achieve anything they put their mind to, advising them to continue practicing what they had learnt.

She encouraged them to network with people who could  motivate them to strive hard. ENDS
