G4S register revenue growth

G4S general manager, Mr Mokgethi Mogapa says the future outlook of the company is positive as revenue has grown by 2.4 per cent as compared to the previous year.
Announcing the G4S half-year results in Gaborone recently, Mr Mogapa said the growth of the revenue was driven by new business, price increases as well as products mix benefits.
He said the company’s gross profits escalated by 7.4 per cent while profit from operations was up by 5.1 per cent whereas profit before taxation was at 4.5 per cent.
He said profit before tax was 18.8 per cent as compared to 18.4 in 2016, and that cash inflow from operations and efficient conversion surges was at 167.5 per cent as compared to 139.7 per cent in 2016.
Mr Mogapa said business performed well under the given economic environment which forced some mines to close.
He noted that the company was leaning towards cash management which was partially offset by customer chum in the alarms and monitoring portfolio not withstanding a watered down economic environment.
He also pointed out that the business was driven by “five priorities” of revenue growth, cost containment, customer centricity, operational excellence and engaging people.
Moreover, Mr Mogapa emphasised that strategic priorities remained embedded in operations across the business lines to adequately enable support to order cash process.
“We remain focused on delivering value by driving top line growth and liberating resources within our business value chain so as to enhance our customer experience throughout the order to cash process,” he added
He pointed out that they managed to achieve some key initiatives such as business process re-engineering, and that there were productivity gains with regard to revenue leakage controls on the billing process.
He said another initiative was growth and innovation hence they managed to reposition systems business and focused on cash solutions.
Mr Mogapa said he was happy about the results considering the time frame of the last presentation, adding that it was a big achievement.
He expressed confidence that the business would overcome current economic challenges and deliver growth in earnings as well as deliver more value to customers. ENDS
