Black Rangers overcome Broadhurst

The Tsabong-based first division outfit Black rangers won their home fixture against a stubborn and youthful Broadhurst United side by a goal to nil on September 23.

The goal came late in the second half thanks to Kemiso Onkaetse who came in as a sub midway through the second half.

The bulky Mahalapye lad who is quick off his feet and forceful whenever going forward, netted in the last minutes of the game from a well taken corner kick, ensuring that his side maintains their winning streak in the home soil.

The Broadhurst side which is full of youngsters could not match their opponents especially in the middle of the park where the pint-sized Tshepang Ntau gave them a torrid time with his  passes.

The visitors who relied more on counter attacks thanks to their lanky striker Mmoloki Kenamile who most of the time held on the ball for the oncoming wingers were denied by the cross bar three times.

After the introduction of Morebodi Haenanyana who replaced Mpho Bimbo in the second half, he injected more life in his team as they launched more attacks forcing the visitors to give them free kicks and corners, which ultimately resulted in a goal.

All credit must however be given to the goal stoppers of both teams who had a busy day as both defense often exposed them.

In a post-match interview the coach of Broadhurst United Moseki Thebeemang pointed out that they could not match a determined Rangers team which dominated possession for the better part of the game.

He was however confident that they will reverse the score line in the return leg as their main aim is to contend for promotion.

For his side Onalenna Osenne said his boys played according to plan and they were happy that they managed to use the home ground advantage to take all the three points on offer.

Osenne said they have to find a way of winning their away games as that has in the past proven difficult, adding that their problems emanate from the long distances they have to travel almost weekly to get to their opponents. ENDS
