ECG partners with House of Hope Trust
07 Sep 2017
The Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Church, Palapye branch, has partnered with House of Hope Trust, a centre which provides care for orphans and needy children.
Speaking in an interview, ECG Palapye branch pastor, Ms Neelo Jones said the partnership with House of Hope Trust would involve donating groceries every month effective from September to December 2017.
Pastor Jones said for the church to partner with House of Hope Trust, it was propelled by challenges that the non-profit making organisation was facing.
She said they saw it fit to partner with the centre after the board chairperson of House of Hope Trust, Mr Gaethuse Morake updated them about the challenges they encountered in the day-to-day activities of the centre, particularly lack of funds.
She said the partnership succeeded because of the church’s initiative known as Beacon of Hope where the church supported and cared for the less privileged members of community.
Pastor Jones said their partnership would not be centered within the perimeters of the trust alone, noting that their intention was to extend a helping hand to two less privileged families identified by House of Hope for four months.
She said it was the obligation of the church to give to the less privileged in society in order to demonstrate love, which was a command from God.
She said giving was capable of drawing multitudes to the kingdom of God as it brought hope to the hopeless.
For her part, board member of House of Hope Trust, Ms Josephine Eppie thanked ECG for partnering with them, adding that the partnership would alleviate the challenge of providing children with meals due to lack of funds.
She urged other churches and stakeholders to emulate ECG church by helping orphanage centres and charitable organisations so as to care for the less privileged children in society.ENDS
