YDF turns dream into reality

Mr Tisetso Molefhe has chosen government initiatives to better his life and those of others.
Mr Molefhe, manager of Soul Graphics, explained in an interview that he was living his dream, thanks to the Youth Development Fund which has been able to turn his dream into reality.
Soul Graphics specialises in photography, video making and editing, printing services and graphic designs which include designing logos, brochures, cover letters, letter heads, adverts and invitation cards, among others.
He noted that Soul Graphics started operating in 2008 and that he used his living allowance to start the business.
The enthusiastic entrepreneur used his allowance to buy equipment like a camera and laptop, but the business was not making much due to lack of equipment.
However, Mr Molefhe said ever since he was funded by the YDF to the tune of P100 000 in February, this year his business has been operating smoothly.
He said the funding has put him on the road to attaining his dream as he was able to expand his business and buy all the necessary machinery his business needed.
He said his business was making enough profit to sustain him, adding that he has also employed two youth to help him in the business.
One operates as an accountant and the other as a photographer.
The 26-year-old pursued an Information Technology (IT) course at Botswana Accountancy College even though his business specialises in photography, video editing and graphic design due to his passion for photography and graphic design.
The self-taught photographer and graphic designer said he used the Internet to acquire the skills.
“If you follow your passion and dream, nothing can sidetrack you from achieving your aspirations,” said Mr Molefhe.
He said he uses social media as a means of advertising, emphasising that his business was prospering because many people had access to the Internet hence giving them exposure about the business.
“We also do one-on-one advertising, making flyers and posters,” said Mr Molefhe, who values customer satisfaction, Botho and timeliness.
Like any other business, Mr Molefhe pointed out his business was also experiencing some challenges, highlighting competition and power cuts.
He, however, said he survives the competition due to the exceptional service his company offered.
Mr Molefhe encouraged other youth to make use of government initiatives because they were meant for them.
He also advised them not to be profit oriented, but to rather follow their passion if they want to succeed in life. ENDS
