01 Jul 2013
Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Mr Kitso Mokaila has urged Batswana to stop vandalising stand pipes.
He said the pre-paid stand pipes, which were recently installed and yet to be in use were already destroyed.
He was speaking during a kgotla meeting addressed by President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama in Kudumatse on June 27. Mr Mokaila called on the community at large to be on the lookout for those who destroy the standpipes saying if not curbed, it would result in shortage of water in the village.
Mr Mokaila further said there was shortage of water and urged all to use water sparingly. He further called on the public to stop watering their livestock with water meant for domestic use.
In his welcome remarks, Kgosi Mokgweetsi Ketshabile bemoaned shortage of space at the health post. Kgosi Ketshabile said the facility, which was only a room was used for all the services.
This, he said, infringed on the privacy of the patients. He also requested for an ambulance in the village. ENDS
