Prisons lose but...
01 Jul 2013
Prisons displayed good play, despite two loses, as Spar netball league games continued at BONA courts over the weekend.
Silence swept across the courts throughout the morning, save for the umpires whistle sound that grabbed one’s attention. The first three games were uninteresting until Prisons took on the Southern zone giants, BDF Cats.
BDF Cats walloped Prisons 59 -33. If the two teams were not judged using statistics, Prisons could have been awarded a better score.
When the umpire commenced the game, Prisons had an intention to win. Throughout the game, the team displayed energy and shined with their expertise to prove that the game was not only about physical fitness and height.
The team that was composed of short girls managed to drive balls home but missed the opportunities to score. Almost all the balls that found way in their ring were turned into goals because of BDF’s well-intended goal shooter.
Cats took the lead from the first quarter until the umpire blew the whistle thrice to end the game. Prisons also suffered a slim defeat at the hands of Flying Hawks. Hawks won 41-38.
Police aka Jungle Queens thrashed all the teams it played against. First it was Jwaneng that suffered a humiliating loss of 13-66.
Summing up, the Jungle Queens demeaned Mochudi Centre Chiefs with 82 to 12 goals. It was a smooth sailing to victory for Police as both teams it played against displayed little skill and energy. Jwaneng lost 34-66 to Flying Hawks. ENDS
