Princess Marina rewards employees

Some Princess Marina Hospital employees have been rewarded for their outstanding performance.

Acting hospital superintendent, Dr Kelebogile Motumise said the awards were part of the hospital's strategy to motivate and reward employees who helped the institution to achieve its vision, mission and values. 

Dr Motumise said the award ceremony did not only recognise the winner but every employee of Princess Marina Hospital who had contributed significantly in making the hospital a great centre of excellence.

The guest speaker, Lenmed Bokamoso Private Hospital CEO, Mr Ruben Naidoo praised Marina for being able to do heart surgeries with a great success despite the challenge of shortage of skilled manpower in the health sector.’’

He said it was important to ensure that the health care professionals took time to introspect whether they were still holding on to the values of their professions as that would help improve the quality of services, he said.

Mr Naidoo urged the staff to honour and live by their oath to bring the positive change to the health status of a patient.The awards ranged from best innovation, employee of the year, best award in cleanliness and long term service and good conduct.

Ms Nkhumo Mmeya won the long term service and good conduct for the second time as she won it in 2008. Department of Dental and Radiology received many awards compared to other departments. Twenty-three employees were given awards during the ceremony. ENDS
