Letlhakane-Kaudwane not in NDP 11 due to constraints
14 Aug 2017
Minister of Transport and Communications ,Mr Kitso Mokaila says the ministry has no plans to consider getting a loan from the World Bank for upgrading of the Letlhakane-Kaudwane road to bitumen standard.
He said due to financial constraints and other competing priorities, it has not been possible to include the road in the current National Development Plan (NPD) 11 for upgrading to bitumen standard.
Mr Mokaila said, however, the ministry would continue to carry out dry grading and spot improvements on the road to bring it to an acceptable condition until such time that funds were available to upgrade it to bitumen standard.
The MP for Takatokwane, Mr Ngaka Ngaka had asked the minister if he would consider getting a loan from the World Bank for tarring of the Letlakane-Kaudwane road, and what plans were in place to tar the road. ENDS
