Boarding facilities at LSS need maintenance

Assistant Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology, Mr Fidelis Molao says boarding facilities at Letlhakane Senior Secondary School need general maintenance.
He said the water supplied to the school was salty and of low pressure leading to leakages which were common because of the damage caused by the salty water in the school. In addition, the assistant minister said blockages at the schools ablutions was largely as a result of misuse remain a challenge.
He said the school was last maintained in financial year 2011/12, and was scheduled for maintenance in financial year 2018/19.
He said the scope of works was yet to be assessed, and as such, the ministry did not have an estimated cost of works for Letlhakane Senior Secondary School.
The MP for Boteti East, Mr Setlhomo Lelatisitswe MP had asked the minister on the status of Letlhakane Senior Secondary School girls and boys boarding facilities, in particular the status of the buildings, water situation, sewage and ablution status.
Mr Lelatisitswe had also wanted to know when the last maintenance was done, availability and status of furniture per student i.e. beds and mattresses, and when all the anomalies would be addressed, and to state the estimated cost of the job. ENDS
