09 Aug 2017

Kgosi Botswelelo Mogapi of Ditimamodimo ward in Serowe has commended Rakcomtech Plumb Africa and Neelano Support Group for their support in uplifting the lives of the community.

Kgosi Mogapi said this at an event to donate food baskets to 27 orphans and seven home based care patient in Sokwane Ward.

The initiative was a collaboration between Neelano Support Group and Rakcomtech Plumb Africa which started January this year.

Kgosi Mogapi urged beneficiaries to be content with the gifts and appealed to those who attended to also contribute towards the initiative.

“This Organisation is still new, but the efforts it has made so far are abundant,” he said.

Kgosi Mogapi promised to consult and encourage other dikgosi to also lend a helping hand.

“I will help in ensuring that other dikgosi work with your organisation and also help you identify the kind of assistance the organisation can render to their communities as you have proven commitment to your ideals,” he said.

Rakcomtech Plumb Africa owner, which operates as a general dealer and hardware shop, Mr Raj Bollon Gosh assured his commitment to assisting the needy.

He said he partnerd with Neelano Support Group after realising that they cherished the same ideals and conventions as his.

“My company in collaboration with Neelano pledged commitment to assist with food baskets monthly,” he said.

Mr Gosh said so far, he had assisted three organisations, being Rotlhe Support Group, SOL Support Group, which he chairs, and Neelano.

He said he was struggling to source funds as the initiative was still at its infancy and had no track record but adamant that more would be achieved in future.

“Although I am a foreigner, I am doing this out of love and passion with no intention to benefit or gain recognition,” he said.

Mr Gosh appealed to the media to cover such events as potential sponsors wanted evidence from newspapers, which they considered a reliable source of information.

He said he planned to assist the organisations to receive assistance from Holand, Switzerland and Canada.

The countries he said had done a lot for his native country, Bangladesh and were interested in assisting countries in Africa.

“Currently, I am in consultation with Manab Karlan, which is an established Non-Governmental Organisation based in Bangladesh, to lure sponsors for our initiative and we are very hopeful that more will be achieved,” he said.

Chairperson of Neelano Support Group, Mr Seitshiro Raditanka explained that the organisation was established in 2010 and registered legally in 2011.

He said they were mainly focused on caring and providing assistance to HIV infected and affected individuals and offering counseling to orphans and people living with disability.

“Although our organisation is still new, it is well known in the village. We have been successful in working with health officers in assisting those defaulting in the ARV programme getting them enrolled back into the programme,” he said. ENDS
