One mans poison another mans meat
08 Aug 2017
One man’s poison is another man’s meat’.
The hidden meaning behind this proverb is that no two minds think exactly alike as what is termed bad or evil by one, to another it can be good.
A thing may be harmful to one person but beneficial to another, this is due to men having different tastes, needs, views, interests and attitudes, which may vary from man to man and place to place.
The statement has been proven to be true by Botswana athletics through the Gaborone International Meet 2018 when they sought the knowledge, experience and expertise of ‘football rejects’ to sit on their LOC.
Former Botswana Premier League (BPL) finance manager, Bosenogile Mpiwa and former BFA chief executive and secretary general officer Kitso Kemoen were recently unveiled as part of the team that shall help with organising the 2018 Gaborone International Meet.
The two were booted out of football administration at the beginning of the year.
Kemoen, a veteran football administrator whose capabilities are with no effort known, was appointed BFA CEO to replace the then sacked Keith Masters.
He was dismissed in December 2016 after serving suspension only to be replaced by someone who was seen as not knowing a thing about football administration in Ookeditse Malesu.
Mpiwa was also suspended and later sacked following a forensic audit that apparently exhumed maladministration and financial loopholes.
The results of the audit were never released even up to date.
To athletics the two are veterans in their own capacity as local sports administrators with vast experience in football administration.
As preparations for the Gaborone International Meet 2018 are ongoing, we await to see if BFA’s two rejected stones will come out as the corner stones for athletics. ENDS
