President addressed meeting in Donga

Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Thato Kwerepe has told Parliament that President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama has addressed only one Kgotla meeting at Donga in Francistown.
Francistown South, Member of Parliament, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi had asked the minister to state the number of Kgotla meetings addressed by President Khama at Donga, Tatitown and Phase 4 in Francistown since 2009; and ministers at the said venues since 2009.
Mr Kwerepe said since 2009, President Khama addressed one Kgotla meeting at Donga on June 8, this year, adding that in cities and towns such as Francistown, Gaborone, Lobatse, and Selebi-Phikwe, the President engaged with residents through walkabouts.
“Unless there is a special request for a Kgotla meeting, an example being the above cited Donga Francistown Kgotla meeting, which was a special request from Donga residents."
Furthermore,he said since 2009, only one minister, former minister of youth,sport and culture Mr Shaw Kgathi had addressed a Kgotla meeting at Donga. ENDS
