Mogoditshane Senior retains the title

Mogoditshane Senior School, which was the COPA Coca Cola netball defending champions, retained the title by thrashing Masunga Senior School 60-32 in the final.

In the first quarter of the decider, which was played on Friday at Botswana Netball Association (BONA) Courts, the Mogoditshane team dictated the speed of the match. Goal Keeper Barati Phesudi and Goal Defence Wame Mafokate bottled the Masunga attackers. Mogoditshane finished the quarter leading 17-7.

The defending champions continued with their marvelous play in the second quarter while their opponents strategized by using low balls which they lost due to lack of accuracy.
In the goal third Goal Attacker Budzanani Kubee collected quick short passes but Goal Shooter Tshegofatso Phineas was not accurate and missed many opportunities. Mogoditshane extended their lead to 31-12 at the end of the second quarter.

After half time Masunga continued using low balls while Mogoditshane played high balls. Mogoditshane continued leading the scores by 44-20 having scored 13 goals to 8 of Masunga.

In the last quarter Mogoditshane utilized their center passes as Goal Shooter Chenisani Mbangiwa positioned herself well and hit the net most of the time.

Nata Senior School settled for bronze medals after defeating Kagiso Senior School from Ramotswa 40-35 in the third place playoffs.

The individual awards saw Jacqueline Kgotlane for Mogoditshane Senior scooping best Center player, best shooter went to Tshegofatso Magaka of Mmadinare Senior School while best defense went to Oratile Mbulawa of Nata Senior School.

Meanwhile, Kesebonye Manowe of Mmadinare won the table tennis title by beating Ronald Mokgadi of Lobatse Senior School 3-1 in the senior boys singles final.

Keneilwe Modise defeated Boga Ntesang of Tutume McConnel 3-1 in the senior girls singles final to win the title. ENDS
